Through the Beauty of Mangrores
A pretty cool place with food that Seafood lovers can enjoy and boating through the areas where river and sea merge’- a recent visitor reviewed the island of Kadalundi.
A journey, experiencing the endless biodiversity of the mangroves and the taste of homely sea food are the highlighting features of Kadalundi Island Tourism. This is a peaceful village that shares the boundaries with Kozhikode and Malappuram districts of Kerala. The place is famous for the protected mangrove forest and bird sanctuary.
Fish Farm to Tourism Spot
Apart from this, the efforts of a father and son have made the Kadalundi a tourism hub. Ambali Baburaj, three times National Award winner as best farmer, along with his son Shamjith Raj has turned fish farm to a beautiful tourism spot and started a tourism package in the name Kadalundi Island Tourism.
The story started off with fish farming, where they cultivated fish in natural
water sources and supplied it. Six years ago, Mr Baburaj began allowing people to visit his fish farm. Now the people are taken for a two-hour long boat ride around Kadalundi River and follow it up with lip-smacking river fish varieties. Rarely people coming from outside get a chance to travel through the deep mangrove forest and this chance provided there. Kadalundi is well known for its waterway which rises from the Cherakomban Mountains.
